Television City recently hosted the Habesha Film Association, a nonprofit that bridges the gap between the Horn of Africa (Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia and Djibouti) and the global community by creating an open network of professionals in the film industry. Habesha Film Association members toured the iconic studio at Beverly Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, met with Television City staff, discussed behind the scenes operations and learned about studio modernization plans. Nikki Legesse, president of the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and the Little Ethiopia Business Association, helped arrange the visit and accompanied participants at the studio. The Habesha Film Association supports and promotes film professionals by providing essential resources and access to a large network of like-minded professionals that positively promote the Horn of Africa diaspora, along with organizing networking events. “We are so excited about this burgeoning partnership and the mission of Habesha Film Association and look forward to working together in the future,” said Adeena Bleich, vice president of community relations for Television City.
